Cengage Learning — CengageNOW software and content development

Competentum Group was a key developer of CengageNOW learning management system and its content. Our developers designed and implemented server side of the system, including development of numerous problem types and grading logic. Competentum also created interactive e-Learning content for the system based on specific publisher’s textbooks. For this project Competentum formed a special dedicated team of about 50 specialists combining both programming skills and profound scientific knowledge. Our content creation team developed about 300 000 learning objects, mostly algorithmic problems of more than 50 interactive problem types.

McGraw-Hill Higher Education — Math simulations development

Competentum Group has developed numerous interactive Mathematical simulations for ALEKS project – Assessment and Learning Knowledge Space of McGraw-Hill Higher Education. Competentum has been the sole contributor of scenarios for Mathematical problems, artwork, and algorithms, as well as coding and testing services. Our existing technologies and libraries were used for quick and cost-effective product development.

San Diego State University — development of Physics software

Competentum was a major player in the software development of "Constructing Physics Understanding in a Computer Supported Learning Environment", project supported by the National Science Foundation and San Diego State University. As a part of this endeavor, we have created a system of detailed technical specifications based it on professors' guidelines, created project software, and spearheaded the QA operations. Our object-oriented interactive library of educational components has been used for the project.

The Moscow state institute of the international relations the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia (MGIMO)

Implementation of the Competentum solution, Magigister 2008 Plus allowed to solve a problem of adaptation of the system to specificity of the organisation of educational process in the conditions of a higher educational institution – creations of the educational content, adequate system of an estimation of quality of students, management of knowledge and internal communications.

The Nizhniy Novgorod state university of Lobachevsky

Students and employees of NSU of Lobachevsky actively use information systems of the university. For integration of diverse services and information systems in the university Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2010 is deployed. For automation of processes of training decision ShareKnowledge developed by Competentum has been chosen.

ShareKnowledge implementation has allowed the university to automate quickly and rationally such processes as efficient control creation and delivery of teaching materials, complex courses, tests; planning and monitoring of educational process; quality check of knowledge and the analysis of efficiency and productivity of processes of training.
